Q. What is a typical training session like?

A. There is no such thing as a ‘typical’ training session, each instructor is different and each session is varied, this is why you’ll never get tired or bored with our sessions. On any given night you can expect: 10 – 15 minute warm up which will include; running, aerobic exercises, dynamic stretching and games
45 minute main phase, where approx 15 exercise stations will be set up. Stations will include aerobic, anaerobic, local muscular endurance, strength, conditioning and core exercises.
Running drills, interval training and team games will be included during this part of the session.
10 – 15 minute stretch down and flexibility exercises
You will run between 3 and 4km during a session

Q. Do I need to be fit to join?

A. No – Our goal is to improve your fitness no matter what level of fitness you are at presently. Some of our members are new to fitness, some are returning to fitness and some are there to improve their fitness.

Q. Who goes to Meath Fitness?

A. Men and women aged 18 or over are all welcome to Meath Fitness. Just like there is no ‘typical’ training session, there is no ‘typical’ member, all walks of life, all in to win!

Q. Do I need to check with a doctor before I go to a session?

A. When joining you’ll be asked to fill in a health questionnaire by your Team Lead and if there are any concerns we’ll chat about them then, nothing to worry about. But of course tell the instructor if there are any medical conditions, illnesses or injuries that they should be made aware of.

Q. How much does it cost?

A. €50 per month by standing order (works out at only €3.85 per class) or €65 per month by cash or cheque or €10 per class pay as you go.

Q. What if it rains?

A. That’s when you really know you’re committed to your fitness, there’s no such thing as bad weather, but there is such a thing as bad clothing! We will run the sessions come hail, rain or snow. We at Meath Fitness don’t do ‘cancelled’.

Q. How long does a training session go on for?

A. All sessions are 1 hour but sometimes our Goal Focused Saturday Sessions take longer depending on the event we are training for. We advise that you arrive 10 minutes early to the session so that you can sign in with your Team Lead.

Q. What should I wear?

A. A good pair of runners or football boots (for grass surfaces) is essential. Training leggings, shorts or a tracksuit and a warm training top are all that’s needed; a hat and gloves are also advisable during winter months. Bring warm / dry clothes with you to throw on after the session.

Q. Do I need to bring anything with me?

A. Bring water and enthusiasm. The water keeps you hydrated and the enthusiasm keeps you focused!

Q. Can I go alone?

A. Absolutely – we all train as a team so you won’t be alone for too long. Meath Fitness is a great place to meet people and have fun!

Q. How do I prepare for a training session?

A. Complete the daily grind, get changed, clear the mind and be prepared to give it your all! Don’t eat anything too heavy in the couple of hours leading up to the session and always drink plenty of water throughout the day. Remember that when you are thirsty you’re already behind.

Q. Where can I leave my valuables?

A. At home! Leave your Iphone and wallet on the bedside locker where they’re safe. You can leave your car keys with your Team Lead.
